History

Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Phitsanulok Province
is a regional government agency under the Boromarajonani Institute, Ministry of Public Health.
It is the 4th college out of a total of 9 colleges nationwide and the only public health college located in the northern region of Thailand.

Construction began in late 1970 and was completed in 1972.
Initially, it was named the “Northern Regional Health Training Center” and started offering training for students under the “Health Worker Cadet Course,” which lasted one year and six months. This program produced assistant-level personnel who provided integrated public health services in rural areas without resident doctors, thereby increasing access to health care for local communities.

In 1977, the institution was renamed the “Northern Regional Public Health Training Center” and began offering courses for Physical Therapy Assistants.

In 1978, the name was changed to “Northern College of Public Health, Phitsanulok Province.”

In 2009, three bachelor degree programs were introduced through partnership agreements, becoming affiliated institutions with Burapha University (2 programs) and Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (1 program).

In 2012, the college was officially recognized as a Thai Traditional Medicine institute by the Professional Council of Thai Traditional Medicine.

In 2019, under the Boromarajonani Institute Act, the Boromarajonani Institute was established as a specialized higher education institution under the Ministry of Public Health. The organizational structure was arranged so that Sirindhorn College of Public Health, Phitsanulok Province, operates under the Faculty of Public Health and Allied Health Sciences.
